When should I arrive?
Any time of the year.

Will I be received at the Airport?
Yes, you will find one of the CEBRON member standing out side the Airport terminal holding a nameplate, he/she will take you to the guest house. For the punctual pick-up kindly provide us your flight details as soon as possible.

Is there a training program?
Yes, there will be 7 days training program basic cultural & language information training from CEBRON. For the preparation for village we take you in the village home at janagal for one night. And one CEBRON local communicator will assist you during your placement. If you are here for less than one month than the training program would be sort.

Where will I stay during the training program?
During the training program few days you will stay at guest house in kathmandu for the training few sight seeing & shopping and you will be at the 'hansada Yoga Ashram' janagal for 4 days for 'Yoga & Meditation' practice at morning, 5 hours training at the day after dinner 30 minutes 'Yoga' philosophy class.

Can I stay at Yoga Ashram after my placement for more Yoga, meditation & spiritual practice?
Yes, you can go for 15 days or one month or more days for yoga, meditation, & spiritual practice (sadhana) in the Ashram. You will be responsible to pay the Ashram fee, but CEBRON member will get some discount. This will be a great opportunity for inner purification, balanced mind & sound health.

What about insurance?
There is no insurance covered in your program fees. So, you should get your own travel, medical insurance to protect yourself incase of illness & lost or damaged property.

When should I pay the program fees?
The program fees will be collected before the commencement of training in kathmandu. The length of volunteering program & other activities will be discussed at CEBRON office prior the training.

Where will my placement be?
Currently, you have choice in the following districts.
the terai region: (a)  Jhapa & area b)  Sunsari & area c)  Udayapur & area
the hills region: a) Sindhupalchowk & area b) Katmmandu valley- village area.

How my placement area will be selected?
Normally, placements are decided based upon program vacancy & volunteers skills. But we consider volunteers special preference. We discuss this in Kathmandu before the training & finalize in the first week. If you have any preferred area, please let us know as soon as possible.

What is there in two weeks volunteering program?
First three days, you will stay in guest house for language & cultural information class & few sight seeing, one night you will be in a village host family near Kathmandu. Ten days, you will be in the orphanage for your volunteering. During your stay in orphanage you will be invited from two different families for dinner. Where you will observe traditional ways of living & enjoy traditional food.

Will any CEBRON person be there to guide during my placement?
Yes, one CEBRON local area co-ordinator will be available there for your language practice & assist you for your help. He/she will be in contact of kathmandu office time to time or in any kind of need by telephone.

Does CEBRON help volunteers to go for trekking, rafting, jungle safaris & bunjing jumping?
Yes, CEBRON will manage the guide from Kathmandu or locally for your extra activities like: trekking, rafting, jangle safari & bunjing jumping. But the expenses doesn't cover in your program fees.

What happens, if I decide to return home before the placement is completed?
Once you start your placement work CEBRON - NEPAL doesn't refund program fees. However, in the case of unavoidable situation like : serious illness or family bereavement CEBRON-NEPAL consider than a refund of 50% of  the host family costs, if the volunteer is  registered of more than 30 days programme. But if the care is just after the training, your placement cost will be refunded.

How can I prepare for teaching English prior to my arrival?
Consider that you will be in the village school & English is the second language of Nepal. So, you could brush-up on your grammatical knowledge of English & purchase English language text books or TEFL books. You will be provided basic TEFL instruction during your training period.

Is there telephone facility available in the placement?
It is not sure that your host families have got telephone. But in the village, you find public telephone to make call or receive out call. If there is some lacking in the village by some reason (some wrong with telephone) than you find near by small city telephone Convenience. We try our best to avail you through our CEBRON'S local co-ordinator.

What is the weather like in Nepal?
The elevation of the country ranges from 60m above sea level. To the highest point on Earth Mt. Everest at 8,848 m, all within a distance of 150 kilometer with climatic condition ranging from subtropical to arctic.
In general Nepal has four climatic seasons: Spring, summer, winter & autumn         
Summer: Summer starts from March & ends at May. The temperature of the season fluctuates between 20ºC to 30ºC (68ºFto 86ºF). Manson starts from June & end to August.
Autumn: Autumn starts from September & ends by November. During this period, the climate is dry & mild with temperature fluctuating between 20ºC to 30ºC (68ºF to 86ºF).
Winter: Winter starts from December to February, the morning & evening are very cold while the afternoon is pretty sunny. The temperature during this months rises from 15ºC to 20ºC (59ºF to 68ºF).
Terai region (plain area) are hot & hills are cool area, mountains area are very cold. Now your placement will be only in valley, terai (plain) & hills region.

What is the political situation of Nepal?
Now, Nepalese political situation is completely restful. Now, the constituent assembly meeting is taking place in the parliment. But we are conscious to inform you, in any changing situation or in need.

How much money should I bring with me?
Except CEBRON'S program fee, it is difficult to advise the exact amount you will spend. CEBRON will pay for your main food and accomodation during your training and placement. Cost will vary according to your extra activities. Such as, trekking, travelling, rafting, bungy jump, telephone calls, enjoying extra foods & drinks etc. But living in the Nepalese village area is very cheap.

How to become a good volunteer?
Your pure & honest wish to work with the Nepalese people will create you all the attributes to perform your job well. Even small contribution for the better cause has a great meaning. Nepalese people accepts National & International guest as a from of God. AS we know, tolerance, flexibility & patience are the key things to follow to adjust in any society.

What should I bring for my host family?
Whatever you feel good & comfortable.

Any thing I can bring for your organization?
If possible, educational books like, grammar, TEFL, health etc.

What should I bring for myself?
We can discuss about it in Kathmandu & you can purchase here everything because you find some cheaper than your country. It will depend upon your desire, what extra activities you like to do and how much comfortable you required.

Any vaccination  should I consider prior to my arrival?
Please consult your doctor for the latest recommendations regarding vaccines in Nepal like:
– Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A&B, Typhoied, Yellow fever, Rbies, Tuberculosis
